Training and certification is a major activity in any business. A latest survey found that companies pay out around $1,000 per employee on training and that amount keeps going up. Even when people are hired with good skills and abilities, they often need some sort of training to mold them to the new job.

ISO 9000 Certification

ISO 9000 is a series of standards that are developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It defines, establishes, and maintains an effective quality assurance system for manufacturing and service industries.

The ISO 9000 standard is the most commonly known and has perhaps the most impact of the 13,000 standards published by the ISO. It serves a lot of industries and organizations as a guide to quality products, service, and management. An organization can be ISO 9000-certified if it effectively follows the ISO 9000 standards for its industry. In order to be certified, the organization must put forward to an examination by an outside assessor.

Six Sigma Certification

The Six Sigma is also known as six standard deviations.The Six Sigma methodology provides the techniques and tools to improve the capability and reduce the defects in any process.

The Six Sigma methodology improves any existing business process by constantly reviewing and re-tuning the process.To achieve this, Six Sigma uses a methodology known as DMAIC (define opportunities,measure performance, analyze opportunity, improve performance and control performance).

The Six Sigma methodology is also used in many business process management initiatives. These initiatives do not need to be related to manufacturing. Many of the BPM's that use Six Sigma in today's world include call centers, customer support, supply chain management, and project management.

SOX Certification

The Sarbanes Oxley Certification is a set of rules that are put together by the US government in an effort to improve a company's audit. Initially, Sarbanes Oxley was viewed as a finance issue, but it soon became obvious that IT systems were so integral to the storage and retrieval of financial data that much of the burden for compliance moved to the IT department.

In general, Sarbanes-Oxley raised standards in three chief areas: corporate governance, securities analysis, and the performance of audit work.

Online Education

Online education is defined as the formation and proliferation of the personal computer. Online education ensures two-way communication via computer network so that students may benefit from communication with each other, teachers, and staff. It is also the globalization of ideas and other human acts and the use of technology in exchanging ideas and providing access to more people.Audio, video, computer, and networking technologies are often combined to create a versatile instructional delivery system. The basic method to unite the distance learning instructor with the distance learner is the network. Networks suitable for distance learning implementations include satellite, cable modem, and digital subscriber lines.

There are many different terms for on-line education including virtual education, internet-based education, web-based education, and education via computer-mediated communication.
